AAP, AMR, V, SAVW, POTG
Apple Computer (AAPL:NASDAQ) Apple Computer followed the lead of International Business Machines (IBM:NYSE) and crushed the street estimates because of strong IPad and IPhone sales. Shares briefly broke $400 in aftermarket trading, but that number could prove to be short term resistance for even this juggernaut.
AMR Corp. (AMR:NYSE) The company announced huge new jet orders, but remember, it’s always hard to read the airline stocks because of all the variables that go with owning them. Some low price NYSE scalpers may step in for a quick trade, but as a practice, some institutions stay away from this group.
Visa (V:NYSE) Shares seem to want to test news highs in front of next weeks earnings report. Visa is a lower beta alternative to trading Mastercard (MA:NYSE) if you happen to like the group. Chatter also seems to be heating up in the Yahoo Market Pulse area. Whatever you bias is on V use stops, the stock is more volatile than most people think.
Savwatt (SAVW.OB) Now this is a sub penny stock with a following. Shares were beat up on Tuesday and traded down 16%. The IHUB message boards are still extremely active on SAVW. Is the run or promo over ? Keep SAVW on your penny stock list on a just in case basis because bounce buyers might take a shot.
Portage Resources (POTG.OB) Insane volume again on Tuesday for this super hot penny stock, but shares closed weak despite showing a minor gain for the day.This stock has an monster following and has undergone a successful promotion, but their isn’t really a lot of solid technical support until the low 40 cent range.
