AVL, EK, HFBG, RIMM, CXLT
Avalon Rare Metals (AVL:AMEX) This lower priced. rare earth, AMEX stock is one of four or five names that traders who follow the space look to for direction. Despite Molycorp (MCP:NYSE) looking exceptionally strong, shares of AVL have sold off sharply since their offering and are looking extremely oversold. AVL is a short covering, long candidate.
Eastman Kodak (EK:NYSE) EK has had a horrible 2011. Shares were almost $6 earlier this year and are now flirting with the $2 handle. Now EK does have a cult following, and bulls will say that the multiple patents held by Eastman will unlock shareholder value. EK is currently in litigation against Apple and Research in Motion over their flagship patent, so any positive news could cause a short covering bounce in EK. But for now, the market is telling us otherwise.
Hall of Fame Beverages (HFBG.PK) This pink sheets name was once one of the best penny stocks to own, but HFBG has been basically been reduced to rubble recently. However, HFBG has a new CEO who speaks in shareholder friendly fashion. Penny stock scalpers should add this name to their list and check out our earlier piece on this name.
Research in Motion (RIMM:NASDAQ) It amazes me why any investor would prefer owning RIMM versus Apple Computer (AAPL:NASDAQ). RIMM is starting to look more and more like a higher priced Nokia (NOK:NYSE) and the loss of handset market share and downgrades seem to have this once high flier looking like a future teenager. Use the $20 handle as a read for support.
Net Savings Link (CXLT.OB) This hot penny stock had a monster Monday, closing up over 64%. CXLT issued some positive PR’s today and there seems to be a promo underway. The volume has been strong recently and a close over .42 cents could get some penny stock breakout buyers interested. Despite the positive momentum, be careful with this one. CXLT could change direction within minutes as it has before.
